Test Results…

  • Ease of use. Whether you’re a beginner to red light therapy or a seasoned pro, this mask is so easy to use. A single button triggers a 12-minute treatment that cycles through red, infrared, and blue light therapies, plus a gentle scalp massage. It takes a lot for me to change my nightly routine, so having a preset treatment definitely relieves my decision fatigue (though you can select specific treatments and vibration settings if you want a more custom experience).

  • Effectiveness. After using the mask two to three times a week for two months, my skin looked brighter and smoother, and I had less redness the morning after I used it. Not only did the scalp vibration feel nice, but it also helped soothe my jaw when I could tell I’ve been clenching. It’s worth a try if you also deal with TMJ. Plus, the four-minute blue light therapy is a game-changer for acne-prone skin. When I felt a breakout coming on or was dealing with an existing flare-up, it calmed the inflammation and cleared it up seemingly overnight. Knowing I had an effective breakout treatment gave me so much peace of mind, and I was less inclined to pick my skin (if you’re also a skin picker, you know this is huge). Just a heads up: I did get overzealous and used it more than three times in a week, which dried my skin out. If you have sensitive skin, start slowly.

  • Weight. Because of the hard shell exterior, this mask is quite heavy. I had to wear it when lying down — it took me a bit to get the adjustable straps to fit just right — and was unable to multitask during treatments. This didn’t bother me, since I like to use the time as a moment of meditation. But if you want to incorporate this into a busy morning routine, you might want something lighter.

  • Price. While it’s definitely an investment, the added blue light therapy setting and vibrations make it a step above others. I look forward to using it, and the benefits justify the price for me. If you’ve been using red light therapy for years and are looking to level up, this is worth considering.
