How I tested…
I asked for this mug for Christmas, so once I got it, I began testing. It’s been a little over two months, but I use it in the mornings to keep my cup of coffee at the perfect sipping temperature. I’ve downloaded the app, explored its features, and have hand-washed it to keep it in its best shape possible. Now it’s just about longevity.
Test Results…
Temperature. Through the app, I’ve discovered I like my coffee at 140 degrees. There are presets available with recommended temperatures (lemon water should be hotter than coffee, for example). But overall, the mug can reach your desired temperature quickly. Once it’s there, you’ll get a notification. Any cold liquids added to the mug (like milk or half and half) will cause it to work harder, so the battery will drain faster unless on the charging base.
Ease of use. The mug is easy to set up and use. Keep it on the base when not in use, hand-wash it (no dishwasher!), and to avoid scratches, use something soft to stir — I use a silicone straw. The mug recognizes once it’s empty, so it’ll automatically shut off.
Design. I got the 14 ounce in the sage green color, and I love it. It’s not bulky, the charging base doesn’t hog space on my desk, and the handle is thin and sleek.
Portability. I keep the charging base on my desk, but can bring the mug wherever I’m sitting in my apartment and it’ll keep liquids hot. The 14 ounce mug will work for up to 80 minutes when not on the base.

Sidenotes…
If you’re a slow sipper like me, at some point your coffee will develop a skin on top. Kinda icky, I agree, but I’ve looked it up on Reddit (read: information Bible) and a lot of people have experienced this too. It’s because of the milk being heated for too long. You can either a) turn the temperature down, b) scrap it off and go about your day, or c) switch to a milk alternative. It’s really not a big deal nor does it bother me much.
