After Meg Stalter showed up to the Emmys dressed as a literal Emmy, it seemed like nothing could steal the spotlight. Not so. Enter: Shailene Woodley in a plunging periwinkle top, sparkly gold pants, maroon opera gloves, and a statement necklace that can only be described as 2012 Forever 21 — somehow even more confusing than it sounds. While Shai bravely loved the look (thanks in large part to a special pants feature), the chronically online didn’t hold back. Some likened it to what you might put on after drinking one too many martinis (relatable) or “when mom loses the battle getting dressed for school” (also relatable). Others wondered if she had just cleaned her bathroom or finished a shift at the farm. And one Mensa member made a comparison so brutally accurate, we’ll need at least five more business days to unsee it. In fact, the internet chatter grew loud enough to prompt this iconic clapback from Woodley’s stylist.

But somehow that wasn’t the biggest Woodley story of the night. Per Us Weekly, the actress was spotted at the awards ceremony “deep in conversation” with Olivia Munn, who she happens to have a certain something — or rather, someone — in common with. (Correct, “football guy” Aaron Rodgers.) The obvious question: What did they talk about? Perhaps a cameo in the upcoming season of Big Little Lies? Maybe Woodley was congratulating Munn on being married to the funniest guy of the night (DJ Khaled, we await your response)? Who’s to say, but the outlet also claimed “Munn held Woodley’s hand as the latter shook her head,” which, in our experience, is the universal sign of sh*t-talking your ex. That’d make sense, since a few days earlier the Steelers quarterback, who hasn’t been linked to Woodley in over four years, went on his teammate’s podcast and seemed to go out of his way to say a lot of awful things about her, including a rather revealing admission about their engagement — before telling her to “move on.” Wondering how Woodley responded when asked about Rodgers’s comments? She laughed and walked away. Take that, Aaron.

So much for the hard-knock life. In honor of the musical’s 50th anniversary next year, Annie is heading back to Broadway. Details are slim, but here’s what we know: It’ll be directed by Sam Pinkleton (of Oh, Mary! fame), who’s apparently the world’s No. 1 Little Orphan Annie fan, and it’s coming — not tomorrow, but in fall 2027. Not that Big Broadway™ asked for our input, but we took the liberty of casting this, frankly, quite necessary revival:

Meg Stalter as Annie. Sure, the role is usually filled by an adorable unknown, but hey, the Great White Way has ticket sales to keep up with — and no one commits to a bit like Meg (see above). Our sincerest apologies to Jesse Tyler Ferguson and his Tony-worthy audition tape.

Pitbull as Daddy Warbucks. After all, they both know a thing or two about what it’s like to be (a) very rich and (b) very bald. Dale. 

Wendy Kelce-Swift as Sandy. It’s time our favorite nepo dog made her stage debut…dirtied up for believability, of course.

Miss Piggy as Miss Hannigan. No explanation necessary.

In Youth, the new HBO series premiering tonight, Queen of Messy Dark Comedies Sharon Horgan (Bad Sisters, Catastrophe) plays Alex, a London literary agent who’s navigating her “dick for brains” ex (how he’s listed in her phone) moving abroad, her teenage son heading off to college, and her aging parents’ care — all while trying to break her dry spell in her “like, 10 years left as a sexual person.” As Alex juggles clubbing as a 50-year-old and a situationship with a childish 47-year-old (Rupert Friend), expect sex scenes “so wild you’ll be laughing for weeks,” middle age observations that hit a little too close to home, and a main character who’ll have you calling your therapist. As one commenter put it, “I would follow Sharon Horgan into a volcano.”
